I cannot reiterate enough how life changing this summer was for me.  One of the things that hit me in the face is how much I LOVE doing things.  Some folk's idea of fun is Netflix-n-Chill at home and, while I can enjoy this sometimes, what I enjoy the most is getting out of the house.  This summer I did so many things for the first time and I can't wait to do it all again.  Here are a few highlights...

Lake Street Dive at Thalia Hall

Lake Street Dive at Thalia Hall

Lake Street Dive was incredible!  The opener was Lawrence and I think they are going to be something big.  The lead female singer was unbelievably talented.  This is the first time I asked someone I liked on a date.  Should've seen me try to dress - it was a group effort.  While the date went well, but it wasn’t meant to be in the end. :)

One day I woke up from a nap to a text from my friend Lindsey.  The text went something like this... "Hey I won tickets to a show called Hamilton, want to go?" Needless to say, the excitement instantly woke me up. The show as amazing!

I received free tickets to the James Taylor concert at Wrigley Field, so I took my friend (and now roommate) Lindsey. We spent a good amount of time together that summer - the summer she turned 30 (note the tacky but awesome pub golf photo above). I also went to my first full out rock show - Royal Blood. If you decide to listen to them keep this in mind - there are only 2 people making all of that noise! I didn’t know if I would like it, but I LOVED it. There was even a "mini mosh” which I did not participate it, but it was fun to witness. I saw my first show at Tinley Park with Paul McCartney. He played the hits. :) And, of course, went to several ball games.

Summer 2017 was a game changer. I started serving (again), met new people and went to a lot of new events. Fall was closing in too close…
